Food Cost Calculator (“Application”, “App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a mobile application for Android devices that simplifies calculating the cost of food products. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

a) User-Provided Data

Data you enter (e.g., product names, costs, taxes, waste values) is stored locally on your device using a Room database.
This data is not transmitted to us or third parties.
Currently, this local data is not encrypted.

b) Automatically Collected Data

We use third-party services to collect information about how the App is used:

Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) – collects anonymized usage data to help us understand app performance and improve features.
AdMob (Google LLC) – displays ads and may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data for personalized or non-personalized advertising.
Google Play Billing – processes subscriptions and in-app purchases. Google may collect purchase-related information (we do not store payment details).

The information collected may include:

Device information (model, operating system, identifiers).
App usage statistics (screens visited, actions taken).
Advertising identifiers for ad personalization.

c) Anonymized Data for Service Improvement (Smart Pantry)

To improve our services and provide a better user experience, we have a feature called “Smart Pantry” which suggests common ingredients to you.

What We Collect: When you create a new, unique ingredient in the app, we may collect a copy of that ingredient’s name, unit of measurement, waste percentage, and input method (e.g., “by package”). How We Use It: This data is used to build a global, pre-populated database of common ingredients. This allows us to provide helpful suggestions to all our users, making data entry faster and easier. It is Completely Anonymous: The ingredient data we collect is fully anonymized and cannot be linked back to you or your device. We do not collect your prices, costs, or any personally identifiable information with this data. By using the App, you agree to the collection of this anonymous data for the purpose of service improvement.

2. Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers:

A premium subscription.
Potential one-time purchases in the future.

Purchases are handled securely via Google Play Billing.

We may share information in the following ways:

With Google (Firebase, AdMob, Play Services) for analytics, advertising, and billing.
As required by law (e.g., subpoenas, government requests).
To protect rights and safety (fraud prevention, security).

4. Data Retention

Local data you provide remains on your device until you uninstall the App or manually delete it.
Firebase Analytics and AdMob data may be retained by Google according to their policies.

Disable analytics or ad personalization in your device’s Google Settings.
Stop all data collection by uninstalling the App.
Contact us (see below) to request deletion of analytics data associated with your account/device, subject to technical feasibility.

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

If you are a parent/guardian and believe your child has provided data, please contact us and we will delete it.
In the European Economic Area (EEA), the App is not intended for children under 16.
